I went to check on broody mamas and heard a chick crying. I finally found it in back of coop and it looks like its been scalped. I brought it in and cleaned wound and put antibiotic ointment and wrapped in gauze. Can you give anything for pain at this age? I know aspirin in drinking water for older chickens but don't know about babies. It walks and chirps. It's even came out from under heat plate(the heater made for baby chicks can't remember the name) to check out food and water. It opens its eyes now too. I'd like to save this baby if I can. I also took other egg as it was hatching and put in the incubator. That chick is doing fine.I was afraid to leave it with the mom.
