day old chick has umbilical still attached

Its umbilical has since dried, but hasn't fallen off... it is firmly attached, I will not be pulling that out! don't worry, (I have seen a bumble bee sting!)
Will it just fall off in time? its only about a cm long...if that.

Oh, yes, it will take care of itself in time. It sounds like it is short enough the other chicks won't be picking at it.
