Just recieved 10 chicks today, all seem healthy and happy except one whose right leg doesnt seem to be working right. I have them on paper towels that are over top pine shavings for the first few days to keep them from trying to eat shavings. It is trying to get around but seems to be breathing quicker then the others. Any tips or suggestions to help bring it back would be great.

On closer inspection I found that somehow the yolk sac was/is still attached and that its leg was tangled in it. The portion around the leg was dried up so I carefully snipped it to free the leg. Instant improvement, it is up and moving much better.

Well all is good in the brooder. All chicks are growing and active. Guinea keets in the brooder to the right are almost the same hatch day and are doing quite well. Just a bit more timid, but in the last few days have started to chill out a bit when I reach in to feed and water. Keeping them separate for now till about 5 weeks as I have the keets on 27% turkey starter and the chicks on 18%. Once they are eating reg food will put th all together.
