Day old Cuckoo Marans - sexing help please! **updated photo, 1 week old

So one has more silvery down on its back with a pretty defined head spot and the other is definitely darker all around with more of a smudge on its head. Thoughts?



A week later, one has a bit more white in the feathers, but I'm thinking (hoping) both females. What's your vote?

It's to early to tell, post some current pics when they start to feather out and get combs, we can tell better then

Yeah I'm sure I'll be able to tell fairly quickly once they start feathering. I had just read in a few places that they can be sexed at hatch according to the color of their down and/or the spot on their heads. Just wondering if there was any truth to that or if anyone had any experience with it.

Both those headspots look pretty tight to me. I'm thinking females. It will be interesting to see if I'm right!
