Good morning everyone I'm new to byc and I have a question.i hatched my first chick from our incubator and he is dry so I put in in my old aquaruim. How warm should I have it in there I got my red heat lamp in there but don't want to cook him

A general guide is there should be an area of about 95 degrees F in one corner, and a cooler area where she can get out of the heat. Decrease the temperature by five degrees every week, ex. week 2 90, week 3 85. However, it is my opinion chicks do not need that much heat, so I use a heating pad cave that lets them regulate their own temperature. Blooie can detail more on that if you are interested. @Blooie
