Day Old Malformed Chick

We bought day old chicks today and one has a beak malformation (top beak does not meet bottom beak) and it is missing one eye. Has anyone hand fed a chick like this with any luck?

Give him a couple of days. Internally, if he's sound, he'll adapt and be just fine.

Sometimes chicks with cross beaks do fine. Make sure he has access to a dish that is deep enough for him to scoop out the mash.

I just realized one of my chicks beak is like that and it is several weeks old and eats just fine. I think it only hurts me when I see it. I noticed something about a week ago but I thought its mouth was a little open because it was hot but then my daughter pointed out a few days after that, that the beaks don't fit together.
