I don't get help from hubby, cuz they're "MY" birds, and he doesn't want anything to do with them...so...since I decided the Faverolles need a new coop and run, where they can be all together, and not scattered about the yard in temporary pens, I started construction today. My niece did help me clear the ivy from the area the other day, but other than that, it's all me...

This first pic is the area, all cleared and ready for construction..

This is the end of day 1...Flooring is down (I know it's ideal to have framing down below, with space between the ground and the floor, but it's just not gonna happen) and corner posts are up. Over on the left is the old horse-trough that I cut in half and with a few adjustments, it will be the nest-boxes...

Looking good! I'm building a new coop/run for my birds also. Doing it myself little by little. When time and $$ permit. It'll get done before too long. Keep at it.

i am proud of ya all.. my hubby built the one i designed but you are doing the work yourselves and that takes guts.. you go girl!!!. these lazy men drive me crazy.. glad mine isn't like that.. way to go

Looks good!
Also. it looks as if to the left of the pic that that area is a downslope? That would be great since you will need some runoff during rains. Just be sure to have some good ventilation when you need it.
Good job!
My wife surprised me the other day, she went out and helped me close up the coops. First time ever...
Luck to you from Texas.
