Day two and already temp probs with LG. Help from other LG users pls!

If you actually feel the dial on lg turn it's gone too far. When adjusting the last few degrees I apply pressure until just before I think the dial will move and it ends up changing it by several degrees. They really need a more detailed adjustment knob.

Too cool is better than too hot. Eggs will incubate down to 96F. You would lose a few if you left it that low all hatch and they'd be quite delayed but they will continue to incubate that low and be fine for days. They will die within hours at 103F or higher.

Instead of wrapping with a blanket, we found a box large enough to contain it and then covered the box top. Since we had humidity problems the first time, I put dishes of water on top of the LG under the blanket to increase the *envelope* humidity.
Are you sure the building is not automatically decreasing temp overnight? Schools do this and you have no control with the thermostat.
have you tried the local agricultural extension program for an Embryology 4H project? They loan incubators for classroom use and have a curriculum to go with it. Check with your local state university.

To help with "micro adjustments", go to the hardware store and get you some very small pliers and some electrical tape. Wrap the electrical tape tightly around both of the jaws on the pliers. Keep wrapping until you build a cushiony mass on both jaws.......prolly 12-15 wraps per jaw. When you want to adjust a tiny bit, just grab the little white adjustment knob with the pliers just enough to get a good grip, but not enought to collapse the little hollow knob. The tape will help with having enough cushion so as to not crush the little plastic knob. The key is.........the bigger the diameter of a knob to rotate, the more control you have in not over-rotating. With just 2 (or 3) fingers, you now have a larger circumference in your favor to make that "micro" adjustment with the pliers. Just keep your eye on the little adjustment knob to make sure it turns with the pliers. Ideally, a knob about an inch and a half in diameter would allow you to have control in that adjustment. I'm in the process of making one that will fit over the original one so I can make those changes "with control".

Saw this on another thread - Put a heavy book on top of the LG to hold the lid down tighter. This little trick helped keep my temperature steady in the LG. Wishing you luck with your hatch!
