I thought there might have been some hatching activity under mama at 11am because she didn’t even budge when I scattered corn. At 1pm she had come out. I gave her a treat and perked inside. One egg was gone and albumen with yellow was coating some nearby eggs. I’m concerned that the messy dried egg on the shell will make it harder for them to zip. Unless I’ve miscalculated it is day 20. Should I wash them or leave them be? Mama returned to the eggs as I was leaving.

Leave them be.

It was so wet I’m sure it was an early quitter. It was the one I had numbered #2. I wasn’t able to tell it’s viability either way when I candled day 13.
