Daylight Saving Time - Pro and Cons

The clock in the jeep is finally right again! I was getting really sick of DD asking me every time we got in the car.

We live right on the EST/CST divide, so in the winter it's dark at 4:30 pm

I saw a quote yesterday but of course I can't find it now. It went something like this: From an old Indian man, Only a white man would think that cutting the top off a blanket and sewing it onto the bottom will make the blanket longer.

That is exactly how I have always felt about DST. Let's be realistic. In today's society, DST is not saving on electricity. We are a 24 hour society unlike we were back when this concept was born. The majority of people don't leave the comfort of their homes to even enjoy the longer daylight in the evenings. (I know the folks here are different!) Or they are working so long that they don't get home before its dark anyway. I think that DST may have served its purpose at one time. However, I hear way more folks complaining about the time change than I do folks lauding its usefulness. I say lets just stay on regular ole time so our internal clocks and the ones on the wall are not at war most of the year!

Whew, I feel better. The soapbox is now free.

I don't like that they changed it and made it earlier. It does no good for people who live in a colder state. What good is it if it stays light past 7:00pm if it's too cold and rainy to do anything outside? I hate it.
