daylight savings screws everthing up

I just wish they would leave it one way or another though I know there are "reasons".
My animals will adjust, though I think its the dogs that are having the toughest time today.

Biggest difference for me is that I'll see the girls in the morning rather than in the evening.

Of course, in another few weeks, we'll have like... what... 6 hours of light a day (j/k... but sure feels like it)?

It's tough to leave for work & learn from work in the dark.

Solstice is in just 7 weeks. C'mon baby!

In the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice occurs on December 21, 2008 at 7:04 AM EST and 12:04 AM UT (Universal Time).

Well we had the extra hour this morning. Got the kids up at 7am to be at church at 8:30am....and we were still late!

We are usually 10 minutes late. So I thought the extra hour they would be raring to go...not!

I got to get them up and rolling earlier in the morning. Our day goes much better and the animals like it better too!

I keep one clock that I don't change and use it for my personal life. My annimals have no clue about the crazy time changes and clocks, so I don't vary their routine either. I didn't grow up in CA, and came from a state that doesn't do daylight savings time, I really have a hard time adjusting to it, and discovered a couple years ago, I was better off not even trying to adjust!

To Jenns, I agree, it does feel like 6 hours of light but none of my out of state relatives can believe we have full on sun until 9 pm in early summer either! I don't suffer from SAD.... yet. I have only been here for 13 years though. I suppose anything is possible.

My ex used to whine about DST each Fall, he couldn't understand that this IS the real time.

I'm like you though, I can not wait for that shorty short day in the winter because I tell everyone who is whining about the dark that we now add an extra minute of sun to every single day! Yeah!

I'm really glad that I don't have to put up with DST. AZ stays on standard time year round. The only time we have to worry about it is if we are heading to Vegas or Laughlin to do some shopping.

I thought my layers would get off-cycle but so far so good. As Miss Prissy says, free-feeding and water makes a huge difference and I've changed the timer on the light I use before dawn, expecting to get some disruptions, time will tell...

I wish the whole US would do away with this nonsense. There are some smart states like Colorado and others that don't change their clocks. Wasn't this started during the war to save daylight hours? Um, changing the clocks is just plain stupid, especially in the Spring.

I do free feed the chickens, and the horses have unlimited hay, But they know that at 6:30 am and 6:30 pm they get a scoop of scratch and fresh water again and the horses get grain and apples and more hay and fresh water again. They know the routine. I work full time, so I don't have the luxury of keeping my routine the same.

I agree that it shouldn't be changed at all. Leave the clocks alone!
I oversee 11 retail stores and what a pain to get everthing switched twice a year. Timeclocks, registers, sign timers, fax machines. Just a hassle.
