Dduell2's Chicken Journey

Well I did but I decided to hold out until next spring and hopefully get a speckled Sussex rooster. Sorry 😟
Its ok. I understand. I just want him to find a good home that will be able and willing to give him a chance. We love him but I can't really handle if something goes bad. We love the girls and they are what's most important. He was an accident and well, illegal to own so...

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Try posting over on the Michigan thread. Someone may want him

So ended up taking our wonderful boy Delta to am amazing new home for him with lots of girlfriends and a huge yard to free range in! He's so much better off and I LOVE it! In doing so we brought home 2 girls with us the same age as him/our other girls.

Its been a good week now and everyone is adjusting to their new homes fabulously! All the humans and birds involved are very happy!

So now I have 5 birds. All hens. 4 different breeds but all having different characteristics.

We now have 2 Olive Eggers, 1 lavender and 1 black and brown. The lavender one (Blue) has nice big muffs. The black and brown one (Charlie) has muffs, a beard, and feathered legs. 1 Black Austraplorp (Echo). These are the birds i already owned.

The 2 new girls are: 1 Starlight Green Egger (Pumpkin Pie) and 1 Diamond Duchess (Dee Dee), with a mohawk.

Seems like the Starlight Green Egger and the Diamond Duchess are early egg laying breeds. All my birds are 17 weeks old, so I'd assume i could get eggs from these 2 birds anytime now. Dee Dee is very talkative and squats alot. Pumpkin Pie was checking out the nesting boxes at her previous home before the move.

Thank you very much to my new friend @Hillbilly Hen for the information and the trade!

@Dduell2 , I'm so happy it all worked out so well. I'm glad I changed my mind lol. I originally started out this spring wanting a black Australorp rooster. Delta is an awesome fella and respectful of the girls. I'm glad Pumpkin Pie and Dee Dee went home with you and your nice family. It was great to meet you and your family.
