DE and run time...

I got and spriinkled my DE today.. so how long does it take to work..

and the bag didnt say anything about flies.. just roaches and crawling bugs..

so what about flys?

I would think that it would start to work within a day or two, as long as you used enough of it.

It will deter fly's and lessen the fly hatch rate.

well this is the next day after sprinkling it around.. not much change in the ant population or the fly population.. I did read on the bag that it is a 48hour thing. I sprinkled more around. I will keep you all updated as to what has died. so far nothin...

Are you sure somebody didnt sell you a bag of flour? We had some ants on the window sill and put it down and there was not an ant to be seen in two hours!

Maybe you are not putting it down heavey enough, Last year I discoverd that one of my broody hens had died sometime during the day when I was at work, when I found her that afternoon the hen house was full of fireants. I removed the dead hen of course and covered the litter with DEa very heavey application. The next morning the hen house was ant free.

I also mix the DE in with their feed, that seems to help with fly control.
