I just added two pullets to my flock and they have been de-beaked. Will the beak grow back?

Ya, it won't grow back...

sorry bout that!!

They'll be fine. The ones that I've had act totally normal and eat everything good. They tend to scoop up food instead of pecking it, but it works for them.

I went to tsc and was looking at the chicks and a lady that worked there came up to me and said that the new hampshire bin had two chicks that had poop on the vent and i could have them for free, and they said they were garanteed hens. At least one is a rooster!!! and it is debeaked!!! i am sooooooo angry~!

they do it in the hatchery when they're hours old. Its done for hens that go into layer barns/ small cages, to prevent them from pecking eachother. Usually its the production breeds. sex links, rir, and leghorns
