DE doesn't work on these bugs

I found some bugs on a sitting hen that I thought were mites. I dusted her with Sevin and no more bugs. I had already been dust the coop floor and the nest box with DE prior to this.

Today I was scooping some oats out of the bag and I noticed something crawling in them. I poured some oats into my hand and took a picture of the mystery bugs. There were a LOT of them and they can run FAST for their size.

Now I have been putting DE into all of the chicken feed, starter, pellets, and the oats. I am discouraged that despite this I still have these bugs.

Since I found them in a bag of oats I think they are not mites, but I don't know what they are. Any ideas? And why didn't the DE kill them?

Since they're in the food an not on the birds, that's a sign that the food has some sort of infestation. You may have to throw it out.

As for the mites, it's good practice to dust birds a week after the 1st treatment in order to get the little buggers that have hatched from eggs.
