DE in Compost?

This is my first time with chickens, I have 4 girls who are 6 weeks old.

I am following the threads regarding the usefullness of DE in the coop and run.

I plan to rake out the pine shavings every now and then and toss it into my compost bin which eventually goes into my veggie garden.

So is it OK to but the DE back into my garden?

I hear that earthworms do just fine with it, so I don't see why not.

DE also holds 6 times its weight in water so you will be watering less often!
