DE/Sevin-5 and rain!

Wondering if the rain will wash away DE or Sevin 5 if I put it out in their run? Ive searched every where for an answer with this, but cannot find. Planning on doing their coop and run after worming today, but they are calling for rain Sunday and Monday. Will I be wasting my time and money if I apply it outside? Does the rain wash it away?

yep! I'd wait i was thinking of doing my hen house and run also but its supposed to rain here too so I'm going to wait. it would just waste it. hope this helps

Does any one think it would be a waste of time to worm them today and NOT clean their coop and run until the rain passes? I really need to get on this worming and dusting the chickens...Would another 3 days of waiting be dangerous to my girls? Ive waited all week till I had the funds to purchase everything. Ive read here in many posts to "Not wait: at first signs. They been scratching and have small amounts of white poo on their butts! pls help? Worried. Supposed to rain later today, Sunday and Monday

Wait until after the rain passes if you wish...unless your birds are severely infested with internal and external parasites. Putting DE or sevin dust on the ground is a waste of time and money even if the ground is dry. You'd be better off bringing in a truckload of sand or more, depending on the size of your run. It costs less, doesnt runoff in a downpour like dirt, dries quicker than dirt, and helps cut back on the insect/parasite population. It's also easier to scoop poop.

I already have the sand ready. Maybe you all dont understand my question. Perhaps I didnt make it clear?? I want to worm my birds today. Is it okay to worm my girls, with out taking care of the run and coop and powder my chickens? . I need to scrub the coop, put down new shavings etc. Should I WAIT on worming them? Can I worm them today, then take care of the coop and run in a few days after the rain moves on. Its about lunch time now, I really wanted to do all this this morning. Pls help?

You can worm them today and do the coop/run later, or worm them when you do the coop, it makes no difference.
