Diatomaceous earth = De.

I have never used it as a wash, but I presume you would add some to water and slosh it around on roosting poles etc.

I just sprinkle mine everywhere in the coops, and put it in their food in small quantities.

If you do a search for de on here (in the search box) also, you will see other threads on it. I hope someone will tell you more. I just saw that no one had responded yet.
