I could only find it at a small feed store. Tractor Supply had no idea what I was talking about. It was around $20.00 for a 40# bag.
From what I understand it is good for keeping the birds from getting worms, however it doesn't work to get rid of worms, but not sure about that, maybe someone else knows for sure.

I had it special ordered thru my feed mill. I got a 50 lb bag for $24.00. I still haven't used 1/4 of it yet - it lasts a while. My chickens haven't ever had worms. I sprinkle it on their food every morning. Lately, I've been sprinkling it on the cats food too. You can also dust them with it and dust their nesting boxes and coop - this will help with little bugs that love to live on the chickens.

I just paid $22.50 + shipping for 50# of Perma-Guard Fossil Shell Flour. I ordered it from 7SpringsFarm.com.

It will rid your birds (or other animals) of internal pests if added to their feed, and external pests if dusted on them and/or their environment. The fossilized diatoms have very sharp edges that will scrap off the exoskeleton of any pest that comes into contact with it. Once the pest's protective layer is gone, it's dead.

Just make sure you use the fossil shell flour rather than a lesser grade of DE. Some is ok for use on the birds, but some has been altered and can be deadly.

I ordered a 50lb bad from here quite awhile ago and still have most of it,,I must admit I have been slacking off at adding it to their feed. I keep it up at the house becaue I have no place to put it in the barn and always end up forgetting when I dump grain in the barrels.

They carry all natural farming and gardening products. The website should have all the info you need and they do send small catalogs out in the mail.

you can also get it through garden centers, since it's great for killing garden pests that crawl through DE ... we used it for roaches ... put it under the microwave so nothing but roaches and ants would go through it

Be careful at the garden centers, though -- they'll probably be selling non-food grade DE. There are a few varieties intended for use on garden pests only.

Thanks for the seller info even with shipping I can get it cheaper at 7springs than here locally

You're welcome. I was very pleased with their service, and all their prices were quite reasonable (I also ordered fish meal with Naturox through them -- $70 including shipping, for the exact same thing McMurray wanted $77 plus shipping).
