Does anyone know where I can buy some DE where it is not going to cost me my first born?
I would love to know if anyone sells it in south Jersey or PA.
Thanks all;)

Be aware that there have been multiple published studies that tried to document what effect feeding DE has on internal worms, and in every single one I'm aware of (although they were all on mammals, I expect it's been studied in birds too but I couldn't give you any citations) NO EFFECT has been found. Some people say its effect is to prevent worm infestations but does not treat active ones; I am not aware that any study has tested for this aspect.

I know some people feel it works for them and feed it anyways, and I am not at all telling you what to do

, I'm just sayin'.

The use of DE against *external* parasite is much more common, and it *has* actually been documented to work for that purpose. It's dusted around the coop in cracks and crevices and under the litter, and many people also put it out in boxes etc so chickens can dust-bathe in it. This still requires food-grade DE (not pool filter or garden DE) because non food grades are dangerous to inhale, which will obviously happen when it's used as an external dust.
