Dead animal? in my floor?

when we moved into this house it was sitting vacant for about 5 years... there was a mouse nest in the vents in a crook where you could not get to. O man the smell was awful... i simmered cinnamon and apples on the stove.... or oranges and cloves until the duct cleaning service could get out here

I just found a dead mouse under my stove... actually my cat did.... Actually I think he may have been spying a live one and I pulled out the oven drawer and saw the dead one.

I couldn't find the where the smell was coming from a long time ago and figured a mouse ate the poison and died in the walls or behind the cabinets... I don't know why I didn't think about pulling out that drawer. duh.

and for a little mouse... they sure can stink.

Some of you guys aint right! But thanks for the advice!

Your post was me about 5 months ago when it was still in the 70's outside. I tried and tried to find where the smell was coming from.

I even went under my mobile home (I am claustrophobic) to see if maybe I could tell where it was coming from. I finally narrowed it down to under the floor in my daughter's room.

I laid a small flashlight in the heating/air duct, angled a makeup mirror til I could see down a length of the ductwork. It was all the way at the end of the duct in a corner. Apparently it had gotten into the poison I had thrown under the trailer. I took my mother's vacuum hose extension and duct taped it to my vacuum hose and just kept pushing it in the duct until I heard it suck up the mouse carcass. I then threw the vacuum cleaner bag in the garbage.

I went thru the same thing 2 summers ago, could not find the mouse...ended up just living the the stench until it finally went away
