dead bird in coop

this morning my husband woke me up in a panic... a dead bird in the coop. I jumped up and ran to the door to find a dead {not chicken} a dove. I went out to clear dead dove and outside the coop I found a lovely white egg we and have now secured houdini's escape route. around 1:30 my other hen went into nesting box and left me a beautiful light brown egg. so excited finally after a very long wait.

thanks, and I watched her yesterday checking every inch of the fence. I know she was looking for another way out, but I am one step ahead her. no eggs yesterday hoping for at least one today.
