I have a week old turkey chick which died this morning with blood coming from vent. I found another poult which I found dead yesterday as well but I didn’t notice any blood.

I have been feeding them 40% chick feed 40% Maple peas ground and 20 % Flax seed. To bring the protein to about 22%.

I have been giving them parsley , grass cuttings every few days as well and fresh water at all times.

Any help much appreciated.

If they are eating the grit then it shouldnt but i would stick to chick feed or all flock feed with a high protein only for now until you get it sorted out whats wrong.

Dosing with Corid would be good to do just in case. At least you could rule cocci out. Drench them all first with a few drops by mouth and add 2 tsp per gallon of water.

I’m going to get a bag of proper chick feed.

Thank you for your help.
