We lost 3 hens and one rooster to a predator while we went out of town. We left the small opening 8"x10" so they could get in and out of their coop. There were feathers only inside the coop, none outside. One hen was found 10 feet up in a tree, entrailed. Two hens are missing, and the rooster was found dead outside the coop. We're thinking a bobcat or raccoon. Can a raccoon climb a tree carrying a chicken? Thank you.

A large coon could carry a chicken up a tree, if there was no top on the run I would think hawk.
We did trap a raccoon the other night. Evidence shows the attack must've happened during the night when they were asleep inside the coop. Thank you.
