Dried Mealworms and some kitchen scraps, such as straw berry tops, mushy blue berries(not moldy), mushroom ends, carrot peelings, pepper and tomato pieces. I'm in Southern Maine

I'd stop all of those things. This is more than likely part of the problem. Feeding treats takes away from the bird getting a balanced diet which can cause overweightness easily.
