Has anyone on the fourm had a chicken choke on whole corn? Had a Cornish and Freedom Ranger cross just up and die after feeding whole corn. Nice heavy bird too.

Could the corn have possibly had any mold in it? I don't see why he'd choke on corn. They swallow bigger things, like bugs, etc.

Sometimes when they get big they drop dead. I think they have more heart problems than normal chickens, the older they get. How old were they? I noticed you said they were nice heavy birds. Did you limit their feed or let them free feed? Sometimes they do better with limited feed, too.

I just had one that died. I did a test hatch and got three. Two roosters and a hen. One of the roosters died. He was five months old. No mold on the corn.
