Today when I got home I found one of my RIR in a nesting box. She was alive with shallow breathing and she would not move when I touched her. When I picked her up i found yellow liquid around her vent, all around her in the box and all over her feathers. by the time I got her to the house to clean her, she just died.
I had no idea she was ill. Can anyone shed some light as to what I am dealing with? and should I worry about the rest of my flock.
I cleaned all the nesting boxes with a mixture of clorox and liquid soap, cleaned all surfaces, cleaned all the nesting pads etc but I am not sure what the source is. I believe she was the one I saw last night in another nesting box when I got home but I really didn't think much of it, she responded when I touched her, she left the box and went outside the coup with the other hens.
I would appreciate any help you guys can give me.
