Shipping stress is really serious in some shipments of chicks. It also can cause losses from chicks from the feed store as well, especially if pasty butt is not even noticed in the ones there more than a day or two. Heat plates are not usually warm enough for sheds outside with no heat in cold weather. The one I used still required keeping my chicks inside in moderate temperatures. I hope that you don’t lose any more chicks.
