Dead Duckling and Bloody Chick Poo

I would order the meds linked, and keep them on the severe outbreak Corid water dose in the meantime, and do a full step-down on it. Then see if they're not better.

I would never give milk to a sick chicken, they don't digest dairy well.

If you are in Massachusetts, this is likely your best place to begin for testing.

If they don't do the necropsies themselves, they can steer you in the right direction.
That's the only way to know for sure what killed your duckling.
Anything with exposure to soil can ingest coccidia. There are many species and not all species of coccidia infect all species of animals. Plus, several species of the protozoa are everywhere. Normally, chickens with mild exposure will develop resistance.

The thread referencing the milk was to help coat the intestines, presuming that Coccidiosis had moved to necrotic enteritis.

So, I weighed each chick and gave a direct Corid dose as close to possible as I could per body weight.
My dropper is very finicky with hard lines to see. Do you know of a more precise one I could order off Amazon? Sometimes, Amazon delivers to me next day.

Do you recommend direct dosing each chick for a period of time? I'll scan back through the responses.
Duckling really bums me out, because it was sudden. These chicks have had trouble since the beginning!
On top of sick goats :barnie

If you want precision, get a 1cc slip-tip syringe.

I understand the reason you want to use the milk, but I just can't get my mind around doing it. I may be wrong, but I don't think it would coat the intestines anyway, and could further irritate since chickens lack the enzymes to digest dairy.

I agree that a 1cc/ml syringe is the way to go and obtainable at Walgreens or any drugstore. I also agree that coating the intestines with milk will not help in any way.
If you want to populate the intestines with something beneficial that may help, the yeasts and bacteria in Gro2Max is still the best bet.

If you feel like you gave too much, don't worry, it's a very safe drug.
If you want to get be a more precise dose, get a 1 ml or 3 ml lure slip tipped syringe. If your feed store doesn't have them, ask a pharmacist for their smallest oral dosing syringe.
