dead egg?

Is this egg gone? I was checking my 3 that hadn't shown life and a different one by itself. This one had shown something yesterday and now is showing a red ring and nothing else.

Might be a blood ring, if you only see the ring and no veins then probably dead egg.

Yea all I see is the ring dang.

I'm no professional, I've never used an incubator but when my hens have taken on being broody...if one looks not right, I always would give it a few more days just to be sure.

Yea I left it in there along with the three not showing anything yet.

If that red band starts to fade then you know it's a gonner, but there's a chance it could be a big vein so give it a few more days and you should know either way. With quail eggs it would be very unusual if a dead egg ended up exploding because of the shorter incubation period. So there's no danger there.
