Dead Hen

Last week I found one of my RR hens dead in the run, no signs of fowl play. It is hot here but i keep the run covered with a tarp for shade, and they have plenty of fresh water,
I am at a lost.

I am so sorry for your loss. There is no telling what could have happened. It is so hard to lose a loved one.

And I am so sorry I am saying this under these circumstances. But

I would think it was either egg binding or heat stroke. If it is very hot, try putting frozen waterbottles inside the waterers. And frozen gallon jugs to cool off against. Sorry about your hen
