Yes we do! I'm tempted yet again, despite the mishaps! There are a few large breeders in the UK and when you ask, many peoples hens are related to these. My nearest neighbour with quail managed to inbreed because of this and they were hatched with three legs

. So I was determined to get a clear bloodline, so I got myself some Hungarians!
That's a great tip to candle before you set, for cracks. Thank you. I will most certainly do that.
It's been a great learning curve doing this hatch.
 
There's nothing quite like experience to teach you what you need to know. :)

THREE legs, huh? That could be a benefit, if you want them for meat. :p But yeah, I can see why you wanted fresh blood... :)
 
Is there a way to check is my chick is DIS? We only had one of our eggs that made it to lockdown and I have seen no signs of anything, and I'm starting to think we even lost that one. Even with meticous checking humidit.
