Dead ISA brown hen

ADVICE PLEASE
I have ISA brown hens. One of the hens last night went down hill very fast and this morning died in my arms. Before she died she would try and walk and fall over. While in my arms she farted a lot then pooped a blackish poop her craw was empty and I finger checked her for an egg and there was no egg present in her vent. What could this be. Has anyone had this happen before.

Without testing/necropsy there is no way to know what caused her death. If you still have her body, you could refrigerate it and make arrangement to send it to your State Lab for testing. Alternatively, if you are up to it, you can perform your own informal investigation by looking in the abdominal cavity, at the reproductive system and organs to see if there is anything obvious. You can post photos here on your thread or on the Necropsy Thread if you wish.
