So I'm down to just one layer now. Started with six unsexed, only two were pullets and were doing well up until they started to lay. One laid very well, sometimes even two a day, a few skipped days, many double yolks. The other laid what I called lizard eggs. Uncalcified, or barely calcified eggs that seemed to just drop out of her wherever she happened to be at the moment, leaving broken eggs everywhere. The other day she was leaned over against the wall of the coop dead. No signs or symptoms of anything wrong with her leading up to that. I actually got the best egg she ever laid the day before she died. It was hard but chalky.
Just so I don't go through this with another pullet when I start seeing these same signs, is this indicative of some particular disease or disorder?
