Our runner ducks are a few months old now.
Since a few weeks we keep finding dead mice.
We suspect the ducks but are not sure, maybe they are poisoned by neighbours or have a disease.
Reasons we suspect the ducks;

- The mice are dead near their hole. Sick or poisoned mice tend to die in their hole.
- They don't have open wounds or broken legs or any damage anywhere. Cats or birds of prey tend to leave some wounds (or nothing because they eat them). Pecking duckbills leave nothing.
- Due to renovations the garden has been seperated in three parts. Everytime they have to stay in one part for weeks. We only find dead mice in the part where they are.

Is it possible the ducks to this?

I definitely think it’s possible. Our ducks are geese go after any mice or rats that come into their area.

Yes!
I hoped so.
They now eat; flies, muscito larvea, snails, dead plants, worms, and now even mouse that I hate!
They do not eat; butterflies, bee's, alive plants, and hornetts...
They only need to eat hornetts now and eveything is perfect. :p

It’s actually a little creepy how they watch our barn cats, and the deer pass by. Forty waterfowl all grouped together silently watching their every move, if they get too close they shriek at the offender as one big group.

Can you imagine a duck eating a hornet my gosh talk about a big head. :eek:

Ha. Sorry. Hornetts are like reaaaally small here. Still annoying. But since seeing hornetts in other continents I realise that the word 'hornetts' is probably more scary and a threath out there then here. Fricking big booty large-booty mofo booty big as your hand hornetts give me nightmares. Here they are luckely not larger then a common bee.

I thought cats were planning to murder us...
But I keep thinking the ducks are the ones we have to watch...
Little evil velociraptors...too often I walk in to them and they give me a look like 'nooo, we were absolutely not planning to murder you, we are just quitely playing in the pool...'. Yeah right.
