DEAD Opossum

Last night I heard a bump against our house, very odd. This morning when I woke up I saw a young dead opossum lying 5' from my back door under a bush, in the general area where I heard the bump. Our coop is about 20 yards away. What do you think would kill the opossum but leave the body out in the open?

Also, whatever killed it only ate his head.

hmm, I'm not sure what would target an opossum, maybe an owl? Or a coyote? A dog probably would have made some noise so I doubt it was a dog, unless it was a very stealthy one.
