Yesterday one of my young jacobin pigeons was acting very strange and being all droopy and in the floor so I planned to give it some antibiotics in the morning, but this morning i found it dead. Any possible reasons in why and should I de worm all my pigeons to prevent an outbreak?

Oh no! I'm so sorry for your loss! I don't know what could of caused it to die! Maybe it was already sick for a while you just did not realize it. so sorry! It is beautiful!:hugs

Can you refrigerate the body until you can send it off for a necropsy? No point worming your flock unless you know it's necessary. I would necropsy to rule out (hopefully) something contagious like AI. Good luck! Do you need a link for state labs?

I can try to refrigerate it and send it to a lab, any links would be much appreciated 🥰

First time I ever lost a pigeon to disease or in this way. That’s why I am scared it can get all my other pigeons sick and I just want to prevent a potential outbreak.
