Hello fellow chicken keepers! I have a chick who’s toe was curling under ever since she was born. I wrapped it in a bandage for three days to help straighten it out and it worked out beautifully. The toe straightened out. Problem is i’m afraid i killed the toe!!! I might have cut off the circulation cause today i noticed the toe looks black and there appears to be a something that looks like bumblefoot. I am killing myself over this. I shouldve left her crooked toe alone. Anyhow, do ya’ll recommend i go to the vet and possibly amputate the toe? Im afraid if its “dead” it might spread up the rest of her foot/leg. Or do ya’ll think i should leave it alone and let it fix itself?? Poor baby...

If it's just dead tissue, it can be removed at home, & wrapped in gauze with Triple Antibiotic Ointment.

Hello :) what ended up happening with your chick's toe? I'm dealing with something similar. Do you have any advice? Thank you!
