Deadliest Catch Alert!!!

Phil has his stroke while unloading at the end of the King crab season.

I know the cameras were there and even with him at the hospital. According to the reports he wanted that way. the last I heard the network and phil's family were discussing how much was going to be aired.

I am watching Lost right now, but am recording Deadliest catch for tomorrow.

I missed the first 45 minutes of it the power got knocked by the snow storm. Got to watch the last 12 minutes.
Suppose to be played again at 10. Going to watch it then
Where is Jake of the Northwestern?

I like the show but I can't see the weekly show until Sunday night when they replay it on one of the free Digital channels,,, I'm really tempted to get basic cable for the summer!

Love the show and all the brave men on every boat. Jake (from the Time Bandit) and Jake (from the Northwestern) were traded for "boot camp". The two captains made this arrangement.
herfrds---what snow storm?? Where are you at??? Bless your heart..too late for snow (storms)

Pretty sure our lineman was hating me last night.
We have gotten 6-9 inches yesterday and it snowed all night and is still snowing.

Going back to the link and see what has happened.

I read today that the last sardine cannery in America will close this week. 130 jobs at that plant and a 125 year old national food staple - gone.
Once in cans, nutritious sardines keep for years and require no further energy input. They are full of all the Omega-3 goodness oily fish possess.

But their appeal has faded, and for what? Icky scavenging spiders from the bottom of the sea, nothing more than carrion eaters. They require great resource expenditures at every level to reach the ultimate consumer and are, essentially, a luxury foodstuff.

And while I feel for the men who do this work for money, I always see the inefficiency of the entire process... not to mention the physical danger for those engaged in the business {{ SEE POST BELOW }}. So many more could be fed, far and wide, if we only devoted our resources to maintaining vast herring stocks (sardines) instead.

I caught a clip of Jonathan shoving Keith and watched the clip of poaching crewman.
What happened??????

A friend of my husbands used to go up there back in the late 80's and work on a crab boat, he earned enough to pay for his college each year.
Unfortunately he was lost to the Bearing Sea one year.
