Dealing with death?

I can relate to your loss;
I am now 17 and since I was 6 we have had chickens. The original batch of 13 that we got in 1998 have long since passed on- Quilla, the beautiful Indian Game, passed away in 2006.
We had had more chickens added to the flock since then- some of the "hens" which we bought as chicks turned into roosters (which are illegal here in Brisbane *shhh*) so we had the fun of making them into families. One of the roosters, Fuzzball, never crowded. We thought he was a gift from heaven, a non-crowing rooster. As time went on we found out that he actually had a tumor in his throat and eventually we had to put him down because he couldn't breathe anymore.

Death is the worst part of having chickens. But I guess that is just a part of nature.

What about other variables? Even though the problems seem unrelated there might be a connection or you might figure out one of the issues.

Do you have any pictures of your coop? how is the ventilation? Where do you live? City water or Well? What are you feeding them, how are you feeding them, what containers are you using? What kind of treats? Do they free range? If yes do they free range in anything they shouldn't be into? More info the better.
