A strange first picture, but it's meaningful. It was my 44-year-old son who took and sent me a picture to assure me he made it home safely on New Year's Eve. He knew I was worried.

We took Josie (border collie) and Maggie (corgie) for a walk today. They get one every day via hubby, but I don't generally go with them, so they were a little excited.

High was 20°F, so I imagine it was around that. I bundle up well, and the dogs have very thick coats on them. So much so that we take them to a dog groomer in the spring to get it off of them.

I want and need snow

I just looked out and saw several cardinals, a few mourning doves, and snow birds all cleaning up below a feeder. The cardinals are the prettiest birds we get in the winter.

I'll never win an award for picture-taking, but it was a spur-of-the-moment thing.

This is next to the four-seasons grow-out pen.
