"debris" inside the egg??

I have searched and searched on here, I know about blood spots, but I am finding "stuff" inside the eggs. I read about "meat" eggs, but this doesn't seem to match the description. I found what looked like a small stone (grit??) in one. Something that DID look like a chunk of meat (not a spot) in another and today what looked like a small twig!

It was hard and I was able to dig it out but it broke the yolk to do so.

My eggs could be fertile, but I collect and refrigerate every day. What do I tell my customers if they find this stuff?

Do you know if it is one particular chicken that is laying these eggs?

I can't really tell. I have ten hens and they lay 8-9 eggs per day.

I'm having the same thing happen with my eggs. Most of my "customers" don't care, but a few might be a little grossed out by this? Does anyone know what it is, or what causes it? Can it be prevented?

I found one of these today, too -- just a small pea-sized, gray "stone" looking thing. YUCK. Has anyone found out what it is?!?
