December hatch-along?

5 balls o fluff. While taking this picture # 6 went from pip to chick.

A Marans was #6. 3 more pips.
One egg had pipped and died. Eggtopsy showed nothing weird. Barnevelder egg is possibly dead.

I have 7 in the incubator due Jan. They are a cross breed. Trying to get more like this

So far 7 chicks have hatched. The one that pipped and died, I figured that it drowned. One more Marans egg is pipped and peeping and another one is rocking.
The chicks respond to my voice and come running when they see my hands.
I’m quite attached to them already.

Our last two eggs are pipping. So should have 8 fluff balls by tomorrow and another three due in two days under broody. Will see if she's as good as the incubator

I’m betting that one chick is a Liege Fighter cockerel. It stood real tall in front of another chick and stomped its feet. Then did a chest bump.

4 Serama hatched on Christmas, out of 7 in lockdown. The others were DIS. The bigger of the 4 (Yellow/white) is being a real p**kerhead. More-so with everyone else’s head, of course..He keeps getting tossed in with the week old Silkies/Orps and he may just stay there this time! They are a complaining, yet feisty, and lively bunch. Hopefully they’ll calm down as they grow. They’re cute, if that counts.
