I'm not smoking here, I'm vaping. Vaping is for people like me who have no will power, and don't want to go nuts taking Chantix.

That is such a great reward! I think you're one of the lucky ones who can just go and give up smoking. I'm not, but I did, 10 months ago. Congrats to you!!!

Most excellent!

I can't remember ... are you doing the Chantix?

I gotta say we're doing pretty good. I'm not thinking about it every second like I was a week or so ago. I think about it, yeah ... but not constantly. I can get through my shift just fine. The other times I tried to quit I'd be buying a pack before my shift barely started. I had three today. I know for a fact that my husband had at least one, because I smelled it in the garage this evening. But, I'm not calling him out on it. How can I, when I smoked? But still, compare that to the 2+ packs a day we were each smoking.

My mother has been in the hospital since 9 am Friday. She hasn't had a smoke since about 7:30 that morning. She probably won't be discharged until some time on Tuesday. Wouldn't it be nice if she just wouldn't smoke, since she has gone so long without it? Not likely. She mentioned today that she can't wait until she can have her first cigarette after she gets out of lock up. LOL I think I'll keep her pocketbook in the trunk, and just tell her I don't have any smokes in the car. .

LOL!!! yeah it kinda did! I have had a bad week, but I am cutting WAYYYYY back. I just don't know if I can/should do the cold turkey. I have not been doing bad at all though, and don't want to discourage others. I will be completely quit by the end of the month. I'm just not going cold turkey with DH not trying to quit too...it's too stressful!! I am a wimp

I just got chantix but have been sick so Im going to wait until I get over that before I start the Chantix. I did chantix before and did well for 2 weeks and got lazy and cocky and screwed up and have been smoking again ever since-been a smoker for 20 years less than a pack a day but bad enough-I dont ssmoke in house becasue of kids nor do I smoke in front of my kids -they hate it...Dh smokes and Im hoping hell jump on the wagon with me...I thinkI might start the meds MOnday depending on how Im feeling I just remember last time it made me very quizey (sp)

Thats cool. I would nt mind trying something, but I hated nicorette. I have been smoking for 22 years a 1/2 a pack a day...that is probably why the cold turkey thing is working. I dont smoke in the house either and dh doesnt smoke at all so that helps. So far so good for me. I have cheated a butt here and there, not even one a day though.

I wanted to add that DH had stopped using Chantix after the first month supply. HOLY COW! It was bad!! Apparently Chantix helps with the withdrawal symptoms too. He was antsy (read CRANKY!) for the week before he could get the refill (pharmacy/doctor issue). He said within an hour or two of taking the pill, he said he felt MUCH better. He hasn't been cranky since it got the refill! He says that Chantix works really well and he recommends it!
