Decided to quit smoking...whose with me?!? Tips WELCOME!!

Aw .. thanks for asking! That's sweet. It seems to be Pancreatitis (her second bout). Normal Lipase levels are about 100 ... hers were 8,000 +. We'll see over the next few days ....

And, yes ... I had a cigarette while I sat in the car outside the ER making phone calls.

Have a story for you..my BIL smoked 3 packs a day for 30 or so years..5 yrs. ago he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer..that day he quit..had treatment doing great...he decided to start a special savings account and put his cigarette money in it weekly..after 5 yrs..he purchased a new PT Cruiser and paid cash for it...now bear in mind this is HIS story and he is a single guy who may have added a little here and there but even at that..!!..maybe shoot for a year and pay for a family vacation..

And like WoW..i have never smoked at all but I will cheer you along!!

Hubby said that if we both quit, we could pay for a nice vacation in Gulf Shores. I quit nearly a year ago and he didn't. I told him that on April 25th, we were going to Gulf Shores, since that is the one year anniversary for me quitting. He said that since he didn't quit, we could only afford the vacation every other year, and would start next year. I told him the better idea is for me to go each year and look at the buff tan men while nursing a nice rum buzz, and when he finally quit smoking, he could come along and distract me.

DON'T try to find something for your hands to do. It is a mind thing! I had to get over wanting to light one when I clicked the seat belt in the car. And when I got thru eating. Sex is another story, just jump into the shower. Coffee is MUCH better with a cigarette, but I also don't drink as much coffee as I did! Like I said, it's a mind thing. Nothing to take your hands off the notion, just your mind. And it is really cool to defeat your mind with it. Each time you do, it is easier, and you really begin to look forward to the times that you can kick your own ass-perations..!

I'm quitting Monday. I just decided for sure I was going to quit like ummmm......Thursday

I do well on short notice

If I drag it out...I'll never do it!
