Hello to All,
I'm April from Texas and I own/manage 3R Livestock & Fowl, which is our family farm.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Not new, But always learning! I have been around and raised chickens since childhood.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Chicken Math Supporter Here!! All fowl considered, I'm pushing the mid 100's
(3) What breeds do you have? Peafowl, Guineas, Easter & Olive Eggers, Barred Rocks, Appenzeller Spitzhauben, and Multiple color varieties of Marans
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Everything! They are the best entertainment and stress reliever
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Barrel racing, Rodeo, and basically anything outdoors or anything that includes animals
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I'm married to my absolute soul mate
We have a 13yr old daughter, whom I home school so between that and the day to day farm duties I stay busy lol. Before we decided to homeschool our daughter I worked as a veterinary technician for several years. We raise brahman cattle and prior to my fowl business expansion I used to breed and train barrel horses.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I have followed and referenced BYC for years but never felt the need to become a contributing member
