Dedicated Hatcher, can/do/should you add food/water?

I am new to incubating and my incubator came from a neighbor bundled with a dedicated hatcher. Seeing as how it has a slot for different hatching(s) and different times... should I add food/water to the hatchery for early hatchers? I know this is not a major concern for most people... but if I have the ability to do as such, should I?

No, the water would alter the humidity, and the food could easily mold in the humidity, and then contaminate the air inside the hatcher. Better to take out the early hatchers if you need to.
