Retirement is perfect for chicken raising -- that way, you can be at their beck and call whenever they want or need you!

Hawks, owls and eagles frequent our airspace so mine only free range when I'm home; sounds like that's your plan, too. The garden is too far away for mine to forage through it; they have their veggies delivered.
