Deep clean method for the run

We have wood chips on top of a layer of sand, and some metal grating at the bottom (to pretent any foxes or other animals from digging under to get to them!). In light of the fact that an earthen ground is the best, does this still count (given the sand and metal mesh)?

think so... sounds good to me as long as they can't scratch down to the wire...
