Deep liter in the run?

Is doing the deep liter method in the run ok? And if so how to do it properly?

The best place to have deep litter IMO.

We do the Deep Litter Method in our run and have been very happy. Our run is covered so that keeps everything pretty dry, which keeps odor down. Sometimes the rain blows in but we fluff it with a stall fork to help it dry.

We use lawn clippings, straw, hay, leaves and pine needles. Their dust bath is in the run so the wood ash and peat moss gets mixed in as well. We add to it through out the year and gets completely cleaned out in the spring. That wonderful compost gets tilled into the garden.
